but i have had a sore throat with big, bad ulcers for days ler.....still hurting and its totally irritating....argh......cant sing....

just read I-Weekly and there was a post on how lousy S.H.E's album was...copy here copy there....so i wrote in...(again?!?!?!) lol
针对傅慧贞所写的"60分钟听S.H.E"，我真地为S.H.E喊冤。
首先听到人人都在说S.H.E为了讨好大市场中国而唱了《中国话》。过后又来了《五月天》跟《谢谢你的温柔》，以天团五月天的名声来张扬专辑。又说拿了周杰伦的歌来做新歌。真的够了吧！
词又不是S.H.E所写。即使是她们所写的，大人物不说话，哪有轮到我们平民的机会？又不见的五月天的阿信说不准唱《五月天》。他还跟Selina一起拍MV呢！也不见得杰伦说不可用他的曲子和歌名当新歌。何况，以前也有过类似的歌曲，就是拿别人的歌名来当歌词内容，又不见的人人喊冤说，"不可以！！"
她们这张专辑的配音实在了得，更显出了她们对音乐的热情极不断进步的精神。《再别康桥》是一首跟以往不太一样的曲风的歌曲，还第一次听到Ella唱得那么轻微，不待她平常粗糙的声音。《伦敦大桥垮下来》好听，可爱，但又可以听到大女生唱着永远青春的感觉。不像以往《Beauty Up My Life》过于装可爱。《说你爱我》是Hebe的处女作，简单的词，听得悦耳。不像现代所谓的爱情歌曲一般，说什么好爱你，真的爱你，分手吧， 对不起等等的含义。这首歌说到了情侣之间说不出的感情与伤痛。以第一次来说，已经很不错了!
不妨大家，即慧贞等人，好好的听，以一个旁观者的心态，而不是"已经听到了负面报道而去听看看是否真的大错特错"的心态。可能会像我和我朋友一样，听了再听也不厌倦，轻松凉爽。

and reading thru.....it gives off the feeling that RELC isnt really apologetic over this issue....u read last part "we will instruct them to be more professional when dealing with students.....will be reprimanded..."

Thank you for your email on the Principles of Sociology paper that was held on Tue 15 May 2007. On behalf of the University of London I would like to apologise for the error on the question paper. I empathise with your frustations and the anxiety you experienced. Please be assured that the university has confirmed that no student will be disadvantaged because of the error in the paper.
We were alerted on the discrepancies in the instructions to candidates and the number of questions listed on the question paper just minutes before the commencement of the examination. On checking the question paper, we noted that "End of Paper" was indicated following question 6. Since we did not receive any erratum to inform us of any errors in the question paper, we requested the invigilator to announce to the students that there were Six questions instead of Eight. This is in accordance with standard procedures where an incident report of any discrepancies in the question paper or queries made by the students during the examination would be made and forwarded to the university after the examination. As it would not be possible to contact the university at that time due to the time difference.
Nevertheless, we do understand that the invigilators should be more sensitive and proactive when dealing with students who are already under tremendous pressure during the examination. We would like to assure you that we take a serious view of your feedback on our invigilators and will instruct them to be more professional when dealing with the students. Those who fail to comply will be reprimanded accordingly. Finally, my apologies again for the unpleasant turn of event experienced by you during the Principles of Sociology paper.

and now this is my reply to them, because they aint addressing the current issue. only now they mention taking precautionary action for the future....and this contingency shld have been thought of ages ago and NOT only after such an incident happen

I am glad to see that you are taking precautionary actions to prepare for other incidents, but all these should have been though of earlier. Also, there should be no excuse about living in different time zones that restrict anyone contacting UOL personnel. One of the SIM-UOL lecturers were around the exam hall, yet no one approached him. A few of my friends advised the invigilators to contact the different lecturers and even offered the contact numbers, yet we were turned down just on the imposed thought of "The paper is right as we recieve no directives."
I have to emphasise that we are paying RELC to conduct the exams, that is to say, being the middleman between SIM and UOL. We could make do without this like anyone other external schools. However, by paying a middleman for the services, is RELC implying that the most they could do when the customer is having problems, is to insist that their product or service is fine without even checking back with the relevant personnel/production unit? All organisations know that if the front line service fails to meet the expectations or solve the problems of a customer, they will say something like, "I am sorry but I will have to check with my superior. When I have the necessary information, I will get back to you asap." This is what the invigilators could do, at the very least, instead of shrugging the concerns of the students aside.
We did not pay for such service and neither is it appropriate when we are paying huge sums of money, where many students are working to maintain their school fees and keep their living. The most important issue now not "starting" to plan and be cautious for the future, but HOW you are going to settle this huge problem, which you have failed to address in the reply.
Like I said, it shouldn't be UOL or SIM issueing out apologies. This is because the first hand experience the student body had is with the invigilators, and that means RELC. So RELC should take up a certain amount of responsibility in this matter and address is now on how you will handle it and what you can do, otherwise, I bvelieve the repurcussions will be huge.
Kindly address the situation at hand, and I will be disappointed if I do not receive a proper reply.

To whomever may be concerned, or direct me to the correct personnel,
I am writing in with regards to the incompetence of the invigilators hired by RELC for the exams of SIM-UOL.
On Tuesday, 15th May 2007, there was a problem with the Sociology Paper, which we found out to be a printing error. However, the invigilators receive no directives or information on that issue. That would not be their fault but what were crucial is listed below.
1. Though receiving no information, they told everyone to change the instructions from EIGHT QUESTIONS to SIX. Though the paper had indeed 6 questions, they received no information to make the changes yet they did so.
2. When I asked one of the Head Invigilators about the missing question on Organisation just minutes after the start of the exam, he told me "to try to my best capability to attempt all questions, as if this is the right paper we have to take, then there will be no mistakes." Firstly, when not sure of the rules and format of the paper, they shouldnt be giving such advice, when we the students know we should try our best if indeed we did not prepare but the case here is not about preparation but a mistake in the paper.
3. When more students raised the question, they gave the same reply. When a bulk of students pose such a problem, they should know that there is indeed a problem and should check with relevant personnel who at least know something. However, instead of doing the proper protocol of informing the relevant personnel, they insist that they are right in saying paper is right and no qualms about raising any issues.
If they had taken the proper action immediately, things could have been handled in a much efficient way.
I believe it should not, at this moment, be the school or UOL to issue us apologies about the paper, but RELC should check on the standards of these so called invigilators and explain on their behaviour and reaction towards this partiular issue to the entire student body.
Kindly check on it and I expect a proper reply asap.

Good evening,
I am a full-time student under the external programme of University of London's Bsc Business. I am writing in with regards to the Final Paper on Principles of Sociology, 15th May 2007.
For Section C, there are supposed to be 6 different topics to study and for students to choose from. For SIM-UOL, we were only taught one, Sociology of Organisations. During the overseas lectures after the preliminary exams, I raised the question of whether we can do the other topics. The reply from Mrs Gosling was,
1. We do not have the necessary knowledge to tackle those questions since we were only taught Organisations.
2. Students of SIM-UOL are expected to do Organisations only.
Mrs Gosling and my lecturer, Mrs Porntipa Wong, are both great lecturers and I appreciate their help over the year. What I was shock was on how the paper was set. To realised that this year, none of the questions set for Section C were on Organisations, how huge the panic it was that settled in me and many other students as well!
Furthermore, we were told, in the Examiners' Report, that there would be no change to the format of the paper this year. With reference to past year papers, Section C has 6 questions, one for each topic. However, this year, only 4 questions were set, and again, none was on Organisations! We received no prior notice about this at all! It was really a shock!
This year was a bad year for all students. First, Econs paper had a change in format, resulting in the cutting down of a substantial number of questions. It was ok, as were we informed beforehand. 2 weeks before the exams, when the examination notice reached our mailboxes, we were shock to realise the use of Scientific Calculators were forbidden in an Economics school! At such a pretty late notice as well! And now, this has to happen to Sociology!
Kindly check on this matter for today's paper and review the paper set. It was really unfair to all the students who took Sociology today. I hope to get a reply as soon as possible as it is really affecting me and my friends tremendously.
Changes are inevitable in the modern world and we should all learn to recieve it and change with it, but if changes are made abruptly, and pardon for saying this, ridiculously, then it would be met with not welcome hands but gasps and shocks. Please do review all the changes this year. As with regards to the Sociology paper, kindly check and get back to me asap, please.

first we have to have Amos as the Head of our External Studies Economics....
then we have to go to Expo for exams.....
then we get less questions this year....less choice, less easy ones....more tough/mix ones....
then we CANNOT use scientific calculators and gotta use MARKET AUNTIE USE one......
waht the FARK!??!?! we are a economics school.....with stats, maths, econometrics....and we cant use scientific calculators?!?!? with chi squared, regression, expected values of a zillion things....we cant use S calculators?!?!?! seriously!
we are already up to our neck with studying....wading thru quicksand....ok i admit....if we did constant revision probably the period will be better....but even then...with all these nonsense its totally ridiculous!!!!
guys....pls pray for me and my frens....we need as much help as possible....
once econs....the most feared....is over...the others will be much more of an ease....cept for stats where we gotta use market calculators....
am already so demoralised im not hoping for a good score for econs.....just lemme pass.........sigh

his seemingly futile efforts...though his friends, those he call friends even though he met only for a short period....though they hurt him time and time again, he never fails to forgive them and help them....
im like him in a way....making frens very fast....but unlike him, i dont have a huge heart....ppl hurt me and i hate it....i protect myself more....turning into a Gaara....but him....he has been thru worse but he still stands....protecting his friends and bringing them up from the darkness........he may be a fictional character....but what if he's real? his story will touch ppl loads....and im touched....

today came, immediately scribbled her work. when i ask her softly, she felt i was scolding and rubbed till the page crumpled and show her black face....
did corrections with scribbles and black face and kept staring at me, answering me, "dunno....u never teach....i dunno how to do. where wrong? no wrong wat? u tell me where wrong?"
so i extended her tuition coz her mum yesterday said, "make her do all her corrections in class until she learns" and i did that from 7.30 till 10.30....and near the end she cried...
so i told her mum wat happened and explained why i ended late....her mum said thanks and says she deserves it....
but i mean...how long can this last? i understand parents....sometimes too soft....
if she wants that way, i told her, "i'll be a robot to u, dont teach, dont scold, no corrections. and where will you head? your downfall is doom. i dont use such harsh words on any of my students but for you, i'll make a clear exception....you have tested my patience once too many a times."
like sebas said, screw her.....she will fail her PSLE and sweep the floors of Singapore
and i dont charge overtime at all so its my own free time......if i do...ill be earning more than 1k per month from tuition....so seriously....heck with her
